What you will see in the first 100 days of asssuming office will be the following:
- Ammendment of the constitution to allow for a referendum to be held. How can we talk of changinging our present constitution
without referring to the people who put us there.
- Related to this would be a provision for a mid-term referendum on the government's performmance, which could trigger fresh
general elections if more than 65% of the electorate is dissatisfied with the government's performance.
- the People's Parliament Act which would ensure that elected Members of Parliament have to debate resolutions passed in
the People's Parliament in the Lower House.
- A National Road Improvement Schedule, whereupon citizens can know when roads in their district will be repaired.
- A National Pipe Laying Schedule so that citizens will know when maintenence and repairs of water pipes will be done in
their district.
- A National Schedule of Public Building Repairs and Renovations of schools, police stations, fire stations, community and
health centres.
- All of the above schedules will be released for public comment before being passed in parliament. Once they have been
passed, government will have to account to the public for all delays in starting and completion of projects. Government will
also have to furnish estimated costs beforehand and reasons for costs over-runs when they occur.
- Review of existing construction projects. It may not be feasible to simply stop construction projects, but it may be necessary
to slow them down while the resources are redirected into less wasteful enterprises such as repairs to dilapidated police
stations and health centres.
- Purchase of Motorcycles for the police to set up a quick response corps.
- Purchase of communication equipment to set up a "911" type system whereupon all police vehicles are connected to a central
command centre and citizens in distress don't have to be turned back from a police station because the crime didn't happen
in their district.
- Introducing legislation to enable the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Investigation
